Guest sal1974 Posted June 22, 2013 Share Posted June 22, 2013 Whilst researching John c Mitchell born 1865 in Sheffield. I found on the 1881 census that he was a boarder at a school in Brampton rd Wath. I can find very little info on this school, and was wondering why he would have been sent that far away. Edmund Posted June 22, 2013 Share Posted June 22, 2013 John was at Brampton Commercial College, earlier known as Brampton Academy. It was run by Edwin Bygate, and eventually failed in 1882 and Bygate died aged 49 in Shipley in April 1883.
