Hello

Does anyone recognise any faces from the family gathering photo from 1913 please?

It’s a celebration of the Golden Wedding of Thomas OATES and Ann GREAVES

Many were file cutters hailing from the Owlerton/Grammar/ Greaves Street area.

I have numbered them for easy reference & these ones I know

12. Thomas OATES 1841-1923

13. Ann OATES (nee GREAVES) 1846-1925

09. Herbert Parkin OATES 1857-1947

33. Rose Hannah OATES (nee SWIFT) 1858-1935

23. Probably Thomas OATES jnr. 1880-1956

If anyone can confirm any other names for me, that would be great

Vicki

For information only, making no claims here ...

Mrs Ada Oates, Dressmaker, 144 Greaves Street, 1911. A Census image might help if anyone could oblige please.

Possible ...

Walter Oates, File cutter, 24 Burnell Road, Owlerton, 1911 - again a Census image might help prove/disprove this mans relationship to the extended family. Please.

Hi Richard

I was hoping the name Woodmansey might help jog some memories !

The other interesting photo is on picture Sheffield

http://www.picturesheffield.com/frontend.php?keywords=Ref_No_increment;EQUALS;s09194&pos=1&action=zoom&id=12315

where a couple of the faces re-appear

It is also noted that it's possibly at the rear of 192 Grammar Street, which would seem to tie in.

Thanks for your help

Vicki

Hi, my mums cousin reckons

14 Jessie Woodmansey (nee Oates) who married Kirk Woodmansey

16 Annie Woodmansey daughter of Jessie and Kirk she would have been Annie Moore in 1913 possibly heavily pregnant with my Grandad Reg

15 Ruby Moore,  daughter of Annie and Reginald Moore (died 1918 in France)

At the time of Annie's birth , Kirk and Jessie lived at 90 , freedom Street , nether hallam,  Annie's father is down as a File cutter on her birth certificate

At the time this was took (1913 ) Annie Woodmansey and her husband Reg Moore lived at Broomhall road / Street

Sorry it was Reg Moore who passed away in 1918 not Ruby Moore
