RichardB
I haven't had a bath in years ... wot looks like a reasonably turned out old duffer with a silly beard is actually a fly-based illusion ... probably. There's no flies on you Richard.

Guest plain talker
first thoughts? Pear? there's a Pear Street near Cemetery Road... not sure about peach... (or isn't there a Pear Tree Walk?) Water? I'm thinking of Watery St,/ Watery Lane (bottom of Netherthorpe/ Shalesmoor area, which would put things in line with the west Bar thoughts from Dobberd....) Orchard Street.... (pear, peach...trees??) Love? there was a "Truelove's Gutter, wasn't there? and what about the links with the De Lovetots?

There is a Love Street and Plum Lane just off Bridge Street so that was my take on the question, I only know this from a previous topic from back in the dark ages which required a look at a map of the area........................ vox
Around Bridge St there are Plum Lane, Plum Street, Love Lane, Love Street and Water Street, but I don't know where Pear or Steam are/were. There is a Pear Street near Pomona Street but that's too far away. So I think it's a double trick. Perhaps they are somewhere on the outskirts.
