Some of my husbands ancestors are listed as living at Tinsley House, Tinsley in 1891. Does anyone know if it still exists or when it was demolished. Thanks for your help.

John Gibson, a Building Contractor was at Tinsley House in 1891 - if this was your relative, I have some bad news for you....

It's March 1888 and he's got smallpox:

May 1st and a receiving order is made against him:

May 4th and it's published for the world to see in the London Gazette:

May 25th and it comes to light that he's not kept any books for the business because he couldn't read and write:

But at least the sale of Tinsley House hasn't gone through:

And on August 8th 1889 his discharge from bankruptcy was refused (and now they are saying it's fraud as well):
