Guest whatever
Hi, Trying to locate where the Ball Inn was at Gleadless. According to the 1881 census it was the next ' pub ' after the Red Lion. Trying to locate as I have rellies living next door. Thanks Sue
madannie77
The Ball Inn was on Gleadless Road, on the opposite side of the road to the old Post Office and a bit closer to Gleadless Townend than the Heeley & Sheffield. Although it is not marked on it was probably the building marked 906 or somewhere adjacent. It is marked on maps from around 1900 which can be seen on Old Maps. The 1905 1:2500 map probably shows it most clearly.
