I have part of a letter, which reads as follows:

Vickers Works, SHEFFIELD. P.O. Box No. 57

24th February, 1941

Here's one for you all, any ideas?!

I believe it relates to the Sheffield Blitz of December 1940? My great grandfather was given this letter, but that's all I know. He was a policeman at the time.

As a result, the city became a target for bombing raids, the heaviest of which occurred on the nights of 12 and 15 December 1940, now known as the Sheffield Blitz . More than 660 lives were lost and many buildings destroyed.
