Stuart0742
Apart from the Moderators on this site, What are or were "Oddfellows"? Do they still exist, where do they meet. In 1904 they had connection to Sheffield Pubs, or at least met there.

DaveH
Link to Wikipedia article. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oddfellows This sounds a very similar type of organisation to the RAOB (Royal Antedeluvian Order of the Buffalo or "buffs") which we have discussed before in some detail. Guest bladepaul_98
There was a pub called the oddfellows at park hill, my auntie used to work there, it was roughly where the trades and labour club is now.

DaveH
The Independent Order of Rechabites Now that one sounds like something out of the Old Testament of the Bible. I found out on this site a year or so ago that in the RAOB the A stnds for antedeluvian, mening "before the deluge" or "before the flood", the flood in question being the biblical flood of Noah's Ark fame.
