Guest Elmet
Hi, there. Just joined the forum and thought I'd pass on info about the history classes I go to. They're on Mondays at the Queens Head pub ( next to bus station, city centre) Mornings 10am to noon we do History of South Yorkshire, and are up to Saxon Yorkshire. IN the afternoon 1pm to 3pm we do history of England and are up to Simon de Montfort and the Barons' wars. We can go to any session and we pay as we go. £5 each session. Our tutor is Lloyd Powell who some of you may know from his talks to various groups. You're welcome just to turn up to and take a look at us. If you want more info call Janet on 2334744. Cheers everyone

DaveH
wish you did one in the evenings.. sadly I have to work Welcome to Sheffield History both of you and thank you for posting. As most of us, including me, have to work for a living or have other commitments during the day not having sessions in the evening would be a common problem with this type of Education. duckweed
Maybe if there was enough demand an evening venue could be arranged. I know Lloyd Powell and I know an ideal venue. I hadn't thought of it as so many people on this forum could give classes themselves.

If you know of an ideal venue perhaps you could suggest it to him? Or let me know so I can pass info on. Thanks
duckweed
I can say to him when we next speak. But we would need to know there would be a reasonably big class. It's not about costs or anything. Its just how many people would come to a class in S8?
Guest Elmet
To maximise opportunity a central location for evening classes might be best.
duckweed
Possibly but the more central and the more expensive. We are only 2 miles from centre so not too bad centrally.
