Guest katier Posted June 4, 2011 Share Posted June 4, 2011 Hi - researching my family tree and discovered my ancestors seemed to run a few pubs in Sheffield. Joseph Sarson (Crosspool Tavern) was my 4g's grandfather, and George Elliott (Plough Inn) was my 3g's grandfather. In the 1861 census George's father William Elliott is described as being a farmer and Beerhouse keeper. He lived on Lodgemoor Road. Any ideas what pub this would of been. Forgive me if this is an ignorant question - although my Dad is from Sheffield, I was born ans brought up in Birmingham and now live in Glasgow.
