RichardB
Sheffield's own Scottish Pipes and Drums have existed since their formation in 1908 under the leadership of Pipe Major (late) George Urquhart. This was broken only by the periods 1922-1934, 1939-1945, 1951-1957, due to changing times and other difficulties. The band had a new tartan designed in 2003 with the help of Strathmore Woollen Mill, Scotland. This new tartan is known as "The City of Sheffield" tartan.
