DaveH
Had a couple of bottles last night, slightly disappointing. The missus said it was "nice" I said it was not the Wards I knew Well it does say "Wards Sheffield Brewery" and "Established 1840" on the label so it does look like a genuine bottle of Wards. However, the brewery has been shut for some time, and you are saying that it doesn't taste right. Is that because on the back of the bottle it says "Best Before AUG 1981" lol

DaveH
Nothing remotely like Wards; sadly. Often when a company "buys the rights" to a struggling well known name to try and profit on its prestige by remarketing it then the end result is hardly ever as good as the original. Is the BMW-MINI anything remotely like the classic Issigonis design?

DaveH
If you send it all to me I promise to dispose of it safely. Yes THYLACINE we have had exactly the same newspaper report over here recently. But me and Stuart have been drinking for a hell of a long time now that I suppose the damage is already done. Actually this is the first home brew of beer and wine I have done in over 10 years, and I have only done that because my son in law has got me reinterested in brewing and provided the kit. Likewise last autumn my wifes allotment became overgrown with blackberries and i wanted a way to use up a lot of blackberries in one go rather than waste them. What better way than a batch of blackberry wine.

Stuart0742
I remember the 1999 Vaux, but I never knew about 1972. At some point after they stopped brewing Wards in Sheffield, it was brewed by a Cumbrian brewery not sure which one
