Norton's, Grenoside

Can anybody throw any further light on the Nortons who came from Grenoside/Ecclesfield? ive got John Norton who was born around 1815, he marries a Hannah Stringer, but also come across a John Norton who married Mary Baldwin from leeds around 1850, are the two Johns connected???

any info will be a big help

Hi Mick,

I came across this old post, you may no longer be researching but, I'm related to this particular John Norton who married Hannah Stringer.

The stumbling block being her place of birth being Manchester which has never been defined. 

John was the father of George Norton, then Frederick Arthur Norton born 1871 then Albert Norton born 1900, he's my maternal grandfather.

I'm happy to share any certificates etc. which I have acquired over the years.
