Guest tothistgp
Hi. Has anyone any idea where Taylors Row was, off Shoreham Street. My husbands great grandfather is listed in the 1871 census as living there. He was in the cutlery trade.

bevbabe
Hi. My ancestors lived on Taylors Row on the 1891 census and on the 3 census before that aswell, although then it was called Brincliffe Hill. The row of houses still stand today near to the junction of Ecclesall Rd and Psalter Lane No sure if it is likely to be the same road as yours though. RLongden
Eight years on from the original question, so probably already answered by now, but there was a Taylor's Terrace, which ran from the corner of Mary Street and Shoreham Street, to the banks of Porter Brook. 1873 map shows Taylor's Terrace, renamed in 1891 to Mudfords Terrace and now the area covered by the Sentinel Brewhouse. Could this possibly be the Taylor's Row in question??? http://www.sentinelbrewing.co/
