Guest Yorklancs
I noted with interest the photos of the tablets in the City Hall those Sheffielders who volunteered to serve in the Boer War. Many Towns issued their own privately produced medals. Others gave their volunteers Illuminated scrolls or inscribed pocket watches etc. Apart from a their names on the tablet in the Town Hall were the Sheffield volunteers given any other token of their city's appreciation. i would be very grateful if anyone can tell me anything on this subject please Many thanks Andrew Grantham
