I have what I think must be a unique record in relation to The Town Hall.  I worked a beat on many occasions which necessitated having my refreshment break in the police box at Town Hall ( and escorting a few drunks there to await the Black Maria) between 1961 and 1964.  I dictated copy to the Morning Telegraph copy-takers from the Press Room alongside the Council Chamber in 1973 as a reporter for the said newspaper, and I produced and commentated the fist ever live broadcast of a council meeting for BBC Radio Sheffield sometime between 1979 and 1981.  Considering I was raised in a house with an attic view of the Town Hall from 1942...I think that's a pretty rare connection. But I'm proud of it.

Townhall, Sheffield by the "D.F.& Co." Series printed in England by Delittle, Fenwick & Co. York.

Postmarked October 19th 1904. Sent by my grandfather to his parents.

Seems a strange photograph... It looks as though its been altered to appear to have be taken at night, the moon doesn't look right either. Perhaps someone could work a bit of magic and show what it should have looked like in the daytime.

Beyond my skillset that

However I would say that it looks like any light source like the clock, lamp and windows have been painted in too?
