The second one was the Neepsend Tavern which hasn't been a pub for many many years. It is and has been a massage parlour for a very long time. The tap room had some very uncomfortable slatted seats and the then Landlord reckoned it was known as the Monkey because, at some time, an earlier Landlord had kept one.
