Guest binsted71
Just dug out this old catalogue of the various products manufactured at the Green Lane works of William Jackson & Co. I'm happy to scan more pages if anyone is interested.
mickjj
Am I right in thinking this is the same Jacksons that would become Spear and Jackson
RichardB
Am I right in thinking this is the same Jacksons that would become Spear and Jackson If it is, they were originally Spear and Love (mentioned elsewhere - one for the Fairies)

Guest binsted71
Am I right in thinking this is the same Jacksons that would become Spear and Jackson I don't think it is. It would appear that a 'Sam Jackson' was initially employed as an apprentice by Spear & Love. "In 1760, Alexander Spear and John Love formed a company in Sheffield called Spear & Love. In 1814, John Spear, the nephew of Alexander, took on an apprentice called Sam Jackson. In 1830, the partnership Spear & Jackson was formed." Guest Wiktor
What is the print year of this catalog?
boginspro
Thanks binsted71, I love to see good quality tools and hate to see Sheffield names put to junk made in China and other far eastern countries. I was sad to see the post "Neill Tools - Not any more!" on this forum.
