DaveH
someone tried a few years ago Fires, fights, murders (and it was the landlord that committed the murder ) Never a dull moment on the Arbourthorne Used to be the nearest boozer to our house but I never went in and always chose to go a bit further to another local pub (Felbrigg mainly) At least it kept me out of trouble lol

DaveH
More tales of rough boozers required. Thank you Dave. Must be some tales of pubs on The Manor ... Yes, like the Springwood for example. Are we having a seperate thread for this called something like "tales of rough boozers"? Please remember that as these tales are from recent living memory many of the people involved in these tales will be:- still alive / dead but still have family living locally / in prison / waiting outside to get me next time I go out /...etc So how much detail do you want? Personally. I'm up for anything via PM; on the site ? I think we should keep it history related, pre-war (that'll be WW2). I can imagine someone getting upset about a 1989 event, but not about a 1938 event - the Gang Wars are well represented on here and elsewhere. RichardB
The event I was referring to happened 3 years ago That'll be a PM then, don't want to include anything too recent. Plenty of folks here from before the War but I think they will accept a 70 year span as an acceptable passage of time for such events to be history - near on three generations. OK, I'll get my grandkids to post my memoirs on this site, - on or after 2079 lol
ukelele lady
The Arundel Inn on the Common Ecclesfield is now closed as a pub, it is now an Indian restaurant. I'm told it closed late last year.
