RichardB Posted September 24, 2009 Share Posted September 24, 2009 Sketchleys Sheffield Directory 1774 Though not classified under "Silver and plated manufacturers", the following list of names and marks of cutlers, etc. (connected with the silver and Sheffield plated industry), are found on the pages of Sketchley's Sheffield Directory, 1774. It lists PAPA and ABBA with the cross and Union Street. Littlewood, John. Table knives silver and plated. Silver street. Joseph Nowil (with 1 l), cutler, Copper Street. Thomas Law and co, same address and mark as you provided also Cross with L & Co below. Possibly a maker of case or table knives. I've checked the 1787 Cutlers Directory with no luck.....
