Boulsover was born in Ecclesfield and is credited with the invention of Sheffield Plate. 9 September 1854 Passenger Trains from Barnsley to Sheffield began operating. 9 September 1888 St John's church Ranmoor reopened after a disasterous fire in 1887 destroyed all but the tower and spire. 9 September 1919 Baronetcy created for Samuel Roberts "Roberts of Ecclesall and Queens Tower'. 9 September 1975 Ethel Griffies did.
