It stood some way back from the road, between Ecclesall Rd and Young St., next to Newbould’s Works. Newbould's Works In the photo of the Moor, Newboulds is the the building on the corner in the left foreground. According to Leader the Woodman Inn and the Rose and Crown at Highfield contested the honour of being the oldest dwelling house in the district.
