Guest Gramps
Don't see that very often - Nelson's Chaplain on the Victory at Trafalgar! That is interesting. Gatty reveals very little of his personal life and circumstances in his book, A Life at one Living. He arrived in Eccclesfield in the autumn of 1839 and perhaps he brought his father-in-law to live with him.

Wow that's scary! http://www.zonnewijzer.co.uk/index.htm includes Biographies of Alexander John Scott, one states that he died in Catterick and one Ecclesfield! dunsbyowl1867
Good to see Ecclesfield getting some attention. Ecclesfield Band 1 Gregory's garage, High Greave 2 --now gone St Mary's Lane 3 Thans OKSL - we used to live on High Greave Avenue in the 1970s and that picture of the Haulage Contractors was an unwelcome reminder . I remember thinking how nice it would be if it wasn't there - in the event - we moved before they did. Now I think what a shame another local business gone! It was very noisy and dirty though ;-)
