Robert Street & Watkin Lane

In my 1926 map, it shows Robert Street ran parallel to Infirmary Rd., later to be buried under the Kelvin Flats. No mention of Watkin Lane though.

Watkin Lane, off Infirmary Rd. No note of where though. Suspect it may have been located close to Robert St.

Info: Kelly's Directory 1948.

That make's sense! 2 addresses allocated to 2 baptisms that took place at St Phillips which isn't far from there, cheers fellas.

The mother of these 2 Francis John Mills Searle and Humphrey Mills Searle was from Ireland was St Phillips a catholic church or a C of E?

They were typical turn of the century terraced houses, although the streets seemed very closed in and dingy. I took many pictures of them as they were being demolished in the early 60's, but they've gone missing over the years.

And I thought they'd be fairly well off as they went on to have a shop and the son's on to their own businesses. So it's looking like Charlotte was probably an Irish Protestant then? Looked an impressive church Hugh and shame about those missing pics jmdee.
