Hjdary Posted February 2, 2008 Share Posted February 2, 2008 If you talk to anyone about strikes, the first thing that is brought up is the Miners Strike of the eighties. Coming from a mining village in Durham I can well remember what happened.....but the miners wern't on their own when it came to having to withdraw their labour... I remember hearing about the Steel Workers were on the picket lines a fair bit too!! So what was it like in Sheffield back then? Were the strikes all in the 70's or did they rumble on in to the 80's?
