I think the official title was Timekeeper but both did many jobs in the yard too. Their accommodation opened onto Eyre Lane (41) the works yard onto Arundel Street as now. My mother and her seven siblings lived there. One of those siblings became live-in caretaker at the adjacent CW Fletchers, 74 Arundel Street, for his entire working life until retirement.
