St Annington
An uncle of mine, Brian Lyne, was killed cycling home from work in (we think) 1953. He was 16 at the time. The accident happened on Staniforth Road at or near it's junction with Balfour Road. Apparently, Brian was struck and killed by the spare wheel of a lorry he was following. If anyone can provide any official documentation, news reports, inquest details etc his remaining family would be very grateful. thanks Steve Clifton

He is listed in deaths as:- BRIAN MICHAEL LYNE, age 15, born 1938 ( death listed in 3rd quarter which is July - Sept ) To get the personal details you want, it's best to contact the Coroners Office about the inquest details, and send for a Death Certificate from the Sheffield Register Office for those details. ( You can do that online ) You can also go to the Research Library at the Central Library, and request to look at Newspapers from JULY to SEPTEMBER 1953. You may find a news report on the accident or his obituary. Ok Heartshome.
