THYLACINE Posted October 10, 2020 Share Posted October 10, 2020 Life long partner of Bert Hinkler, famous Australian aviator who flew 122 missions with the Royal Naval Air Service over enemy territory in WW1 and was the first man to fly solo from England to Australia in 1928. Although they never married, Hannah, who was known as Nance Hinkler was with him until his death in 1933 when his plane crashed in the Apennine Mountains in Italy. Nance died in 1958 in Cape Town, S. Africa. In Bert Hinkler's biography Nance states she was 'from Sheffield'. This is the only mention of Sheffield and no other information is given.
