southside
Remember walking along Eyre Street to pick up some copper tube from Arnold Carters and coming across this scene! Can anyone tell me what was under construction at the site where the crane was working? also the building on Duke Lane marked with a circle, I repaired a burst pipe there, can`t for the life of me remember what the building was? seem to think the building was empty at the time.
Stringy72
The Photo is 1965, so probably the start of developing Eyre Street underpass, Furnival Gate Rounabout and Arundel Gate. Don't forget Eyre Street fist looked like this after redevelopment. Quite a job it was looking at these photos. , . .
southside
Remember it first opening Stringy72! One of my mates had a Mini Cooper fitted with a big bore exhaust system, every time we drove into Town he had to drive through the underpass several times, he loved the sound of the reverberation you got. Oh to be young again.

SteveHB
Circa 1954. Map showing Eyre Street, Duke Lane, it looks to be prior to T C Vere being built (area marked). https://www.old-maps.co.uk/index.html#/Map/435973/387740/13/101329

SteveHB
Anyone know what year the multi story car park was built? It stood across the road from T C Vere. https://goo.gl/maps/qQz4uau3BFcBnJMd6

I see there are double yellow lines. When were they were first used in Sheffield?
