"Rotherham...the home of Sheffield s**t" ....so I can imagine Blackburn Meadows Power Station was as well. Just to the right of the motorway, opposite the smaller cooling tower on this photo, was Tinsley Rolling Mills and that was in Sheffield after earlier boundary changes.. Voldy Posted November 3, 2017 Share Posted November 3, 2017 If you look at the 1/1250 OS plan here (on page 6) the two cooling towers were just about on the (higher) red "Sheffield" superimposed on the plan between the Tinsley West & East railway junctions in the Tinsley Ward of Sheffield. Not shown on the published plan for security reasons, neither were a number of railway sidings. I was the OS field surveyor responsible for most of the work on that particular plan in 1953 so yes, they were in Sheffield! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
