Guest Johnbax
The one on Cherry Tree Rd/Kenwood Road is the original gatehouse to George Wostenholm's Kenwood House, built about 1845. This was replaced by the later more impressive one at the Rundle Rd/Kenwood Road roundabout, designed by William Flockton and bearing Wostenholm's coat of arms. ukelele lady
There's one at the old Infirmary gates that used to be the Ski Village shop and also one at the old Middlewood hospital that is now a nursery. Archer road also has one.

chrubble
Am I correct in presuming that this is one of the gate lodges to Endcliffe Hall? c.1924.jpg c.1924. Yes - Correct. There are various building related to the hall scattered around Endcliffe and on Fulwood Rd, such as stables (now the supermarket in the student village). chrubble
I think this may have been the gatehouse to Brincliffe Towers. It's been extended over the years but is correctly positioned for the drive way and is older than all the surrounding houses at the junction, Brincliffe Edge and Quarry Lane. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Brincliffe+Towers,+Brincliffe+Edge+Rd,+Sheffield,+South+Yorkshire+S11+9BZ/@53.358723,-1.503816,3a,75y,103.72h,79.2t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sXzs1NRtO2YAO8HO8X6CEsA!2e0!4m2!3m1!1s0x4879823fcf0c067b:0xb797cf0646a95792

It appears on the 1850 OS map, but the site of the Towers is just a field at that time. When the Towers was/were built the driveway certainly seems to start by the older building. Perhaps it was an existing building pressed into service as a gatehouse. Or perhaps the estate was built on the "never never", gatehouse first and main building later. hilldweller
Just been Googling Brincliffe Towers and found a Sheffield City Council PDF about the neighbourhood. It states that Brincliffe Towers was built in 1852 and a pre-existing "former farmhouse" was pressed into service as the gatehouse. So now we know.
