Eddemer
Hello, I’m a postgrad student at the University of Sheffield and I’m currently doing some research into punk in Sheffield during the late 1970s and 1980s. More specifically I’m looking into how being a punk affected people on a daily basis and I’d be really interested in conducting some interviews about what life was like being a punk in Sheffield during this time. Ideally I’d like to set up interviews within the next couple of weeks, so whether you (or somebody you know) would be willing to do an interview or just give me some kind of testimony via email then it would be great to hear about your experiences! Please feel free to PM me with any questions and I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks! Eddie

dunsbyowl1867
Looking at Thylacines link I think the chap who gives his email address is probably Tony Beeley who has writtena number of books on Punk & the local area so he would be a good person to contact. http://www.ourgenerationpunkandmod.co.uk/
lysander
"Punk... an unfortunate period in popular culture with little to commend it beyond its noise!" Only ( half) joking!
Eddemer
This is all great stuff, thanks for the tips. I've posted a few things on Sheffield Forum and seem to be getting a fair few replies. Should be interesting to hear what kind of stories people have.
