vox
Just saw this on my way past. I asked if the front was being saved but no, it is to be completely flattened.

vox
For some reason the work stopped for a while and the frontage stayed supported by scaffold. I see they've started taking the front down now.
david france
Tragic. My sisters and I went to Sunday School and saw many am/dram productions there in the schoolroom in the 40s/50s. Names I recall are David Peat and Margaret Waghorne, the Jenkinson sisters from Fentonville Street and Mr Stephenson, secretary/lay preacher. My Grandfather, Mr William Stewart preached there frequently and his name was regularly on the board outside. The Styring family (coal and haulage) were prominent church members. I would love to hear from anyone connected with St Johns/Sharrow Lane in those years. We former scallywags of Fentonville St hold regular reunions and you may wish to join us.
