Spoon Identification

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon all,

I have come across this spoon recently It says "Ward 7" which would suggest that it has come from somekind of institution and has a belt type emblem below. On the reverse of the spoon it has a stamp that says "Dixon Stainless Firth Staybright"

Any information would be helpful

It does say "WD", therefore it may or may not mean "Ward" it may mean something else altogether,

My guess, was just that, a guess, led my your assumption that it was "Ward", however, until something better comes along RIS is a reasonable guess based on the very limited facts we have about the piece.

Yes WD not Ward,

WD, - War Department??

Could it be a military field issue and RIS is some sort of army unit (Royal Infantary S???)

There is what looks like a shamrock on the belt at the bottom - could the "I" stand for Irish?

War Department would more likely be signified by an arrow than "WD"?
