Guest edie_sedgwick
Anyone remember the abandoned ornaments/statues/sculptures on the side of Cocksutts Road that leads up to wharncliffe side from oughtibridge? My dad showed me them when I was very small, about 6. This would have been 1995/1996. Where did they come from? Where are they now? There was a lady's head, can't remember the rest, it was aaaages ago.
SteveHB
Could they have been the work of Stoneface? http://www.stonefacesculpture.com/

Guest 1867andy
There used to be an old cast iron water pump (minus it's handle) with a lions head next to the horse trough on Cockshutts Lane, this disappeared along with one of the horse troughs when two new houses were built about 15 years ago on the old Yorkshire water plot of land just above the troughs. There also used to be one of these cast iron lion heads buried up to its neck on Langsett Road South near where the road splits for the one way system on the riverside.
