Chris1943
I have recently found out that an ancestor of mine married a woman called Charlotte who had a glove stall on one of the Sheffield Markets in the early years of the last century.. I'm saying married, I don't know if they actually did, as so far no marriage has been identified. Her surname is shrouded in mystery as is her early life. Does anyone know if a list of stall holders exists for that period and if so where it is held? saw119
I don't personally know of a list of market stall holders. The only thing I would recommend is to go through the local directories and say if you can make a match between the names. Alternatively, you could always try the census for 1901 and 1911 entering 'charlotte' and 'glove' and/or 'market '.
