Best example I know is opposite the station, not far from the Old Queen's Head. A 'front on' picture and one from the side showing the chute down to the river. Are they ever used these days? tozzin Posted August 26, 2015 Share Posted August 26, 2015 On Lady's Bridge there were small doors in the ironwork to shovel snow into the Don. There were gates on Queens Rd into the Sheaf, and on Charlotte Rd near the Kentucky Fried Chicket outlet there were gates into the Sheaf also.
