'Remote and Undisturbed', the definitive history of Sheffield General Cemetery, has gone on sale this week at selected Sheffield outlets. The book has been extensivly revised and updated with new archive content, plans and photographs since going out of print a couple of years ago. It provides a fascinating and detailed account of the history of the cemetery together with the stories behind some of the more notable graves and monuments such as those of George Bassett, Mark Firth and the Cole Brothers.

As well as being a great source of information on this unique part of Sheffield's Victorian past, sales of the book support the Trust's work to maintain and preserve this amazing heritage site.
