RichardB
Came upon a list of some folks at Brelsforth Orchards in 1828, decided to put that list up here, but got sidetracked into a little more detail on one or two of them. Also the name appears to have slightly more variation than would appear absolutely necessary : Brelsforth(s) Orchard, Brailsforth, Brailsford, Brinsworth, Brinsforth and Brielsforth all seem possible; also the name Orchard Street appears to be in favour both before and after 1828, but it definately states Brelsforths Orchards in the document. Discuss please. Sure there must be an old map or two, maybe existing data on the site somewhere to cheer the whole thing along.

RichardB
There is commencement and Term of Lease listed also. Some of these appear to go back quite a long time ! These are the people shown at Brelsforth Orchards in 1828, with the date of commencement of the lease. Joseph Sheard 1755 Stephen Loy 1755 William Rowley 1787 Peter Spurr 1787 John Sheldon 1755 John Millward 1755 Jonathan Wragg 1755 Mary Osborne's executors 1768 S. A Younge 1768 R. Siddall's executors 1755 John Williams 1755 Ebenezer Dickenson 1755 John Nutt Newton 1745 Richard Sykes executors 1745 Joseph Newbould 1745 Joseph Townsend 1745 Robert Brightmore 1755 Ebenezer Brookes 1787 So there ! Heavy bias towards 1755, some before, some after.

RichardB
The names on the list belong to 1828. The 1755 etc dates relate to the commencement of the lease. I have a possible mention of Robert Brightmore, Merchant and Manufacturer, Townhead Cross in Holden's Directory of 1811 ... Peter SPURR was Master Cutler in 1781 also a Robert BRIGHTMORE in 1809, but a long time after 1755
