vox
You're right you know; how did you get it ? and what is "Do the Stanley" ??? which is the actual link. Unintentionally by computer I'm afraid. I remembered the song "Do the Stanley" by Stackridge which prompted me to see if there was a Youtube video. From there I found that they were still performing and got side-tracked. Eventually the Korgis info popped up although I wasn't particularly looking for it. DaveH
The connection is that some members of Stackridge formed the Korgis I'm lost on this bit now. Is "the Stanley" a dance? Does it involve a silly walk, a lot of head scratching, pretending to cry, laughing, ear wiggling, fooling about with a bowler hat and other awkward body movements which would normally be associated with Stan Laurel? DaveH
Dreadful ! "Do the Stanley "looks like a dance to me. A bit like "Do the Freddie" as performed by Freddie and the Dreamers in 1965
DaveH
Laurel and Hardy thenselves did have a record in the charts in 1975. It was the song "The Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia", taken directly from the soundtrack of one of their longer films (I think it was "Way Out West")
