Guest galena
A search of the 1911 census for 21 Glen Road recorded in a document in TNA indicates that a property of this number did not exist. Similalry checking White's Directories for 1901 and 1911 show the same but intriguingly the latter records properties numbered 19, 23, 25, 27 and 29. Has anybody any idea why there is no property numbered 21 please? Many thanks galena

Guest galena
Thank you very much to both of you for your full information. It does answer the query inasmuch as it shows that 21 Glen Road did exist but may not have appeared in the later directory because the resident did not want an entry in the directory for some reason and the omission from the Census for 1911 may have been because the property was empty. Me thinks that this illustrates the difference in the format of the 1911 census and the previous enumerator's books which give the details for the properties in the roads including empty ones whereas in 1911 the actual returns have been digitised. galena
