The shop on the right was Jack archer's, as kids we often went in for footy boots and kit. It would have stood across from where the petrol station is now on Bramall lane. I can also recall they repaired air guns and rifles.

I was told he also provided uniteds kit? Does anyone know the history behind the shop and owner?

I can remember going into Jack Archer's in the mid to late 60's,

but don't recall him doing any repairs to air guns.

Looking in the Kelly's directory, he was at the same address in 1925.

My Dad bought me my first Owls kit from Jack Archers in the early 50s and I used the shop when I left school to buy darts and flights etc .
