Guest J.A.C.
Hi there Found this piece of Sheffield history beside the River Trent at its junction with the Chesterfield canal. It was apparently used for dragging boats / barges up to the lock gates due to the strong tidal currents of the trent. Any more information on this please. While I am sat here sitting has anyone got any old photographs of Woodhouse / Hackenthorpe / Handsworth /or Mosborough, I have seen all the usual suspects sheffield pictures etc thanks in anticipation Jim.
