Hello, my old dad was telling me many years ago about his favourite regular act at the Empire Theatre. I remember part of the name but unfortunately he is now of a certain age where he can neither remember. Felix Mendelson and the Hawian Serenaders is, I think, what he said. His five minutes of fame came at the Empire, in the late '40's when he was asked to dance on stage with the Serenaders. Does anyone know anything of this act? It would make his day if I could find something about them for him? Thank you for reading.

…well, we like to call him a famous musician in that he was in Felix Mendelson and his Hawaiian Serenaders. He played Hawaiian guitar, piano before that, but eventually Hawaiian guitar. And they were very popular and I used to sit on the side of the stage and watch them and got to play when he had his own band going some evenings. We did a duet or two on the piano.

My word Richard, many many sincere thanks for all of this.My dad will be truly amazed will all of this, you will have made all of his Christmases come at once, really, he will be so thrilled. He has never seen a computer and has no concept of the internet as such. If I tell him 'I found it on the net' he cannot get his head around it one bit. Many thanks again.
