I'm Thinking Of Giving It All Up And Starting A Band

I'm thinking of giving it all up and starting a Bongo and Flegelhorn popular beat combo (43 sets of Bongos and 23 flegelhorns). We would be called

Polynesian Spinach

for no apparent reason.

The idea is to specialise in a fusion of Wagnerian heavy doom and bewilderment and the worst excesses of Disco (as practised by Donna Summer - may need someone capable of syndrum solos ... for that bit).

(This posting not to be treated at all seriously.)

Shame, I thought I'd found my 66th member.

Never mind Richard, the other 64 members and me will find our final bongo-basher to complete the line-up eventually.

PS flugelhorn, flugel horn or fluegelhorn - take your pick.

That's right vox,

It's a flUgelhorn not a FlEgelhorn

I Fleegel Horn must be some sort of horn that Fleegle out of the Banana Splits played.

But as I remember it from when "The Banana Splits" were on TV Fleegel played a guitar and not a horn

The Banana Splits was an American childrens TV show produced by Hannah - Barbera and was shown in Britain in 1969-70

Most kids hated it because the programmers chose to show it on Friday at 5 to 5 and in so doing temporarily displaced the long running favourite programme "Crackerjack", which actually had never been the same since losing Lesley Crowther as a presenter earlier that year.

I strongly suspect it was me getting yelled at and spelling it incorrectly.

I was considering bongos and trumpets, or French Horns which I can, at least, spell.

OK Richard,

What's the difference between a French Horn and an English Horn (which the French call a "Cor Anglais")?
