Two at number 576 in 1965,

Philip E Mann,

and

Porter Wright & Co. Ltd. wine and spirit warehouse.

PS,

Porter Wright is how it reads,

so could be Wright Porter

It is Porter Wright, my Mum worked for them as a secretary before the war, after she left school. I think the offices were located in Dixon Lane but not 100% sure. :)

From what I can find on t´internet they were a subsidiary of Wiley & Co, later Stowells of Chelsea who were all subsidiaries of Tennants then Whitbreads. Whitbreads had a big acquision agenda in the 1950´s and 60´s taking over lots of small breweries and related drinks companies. Started brewing Heineken under Licence in 1968.

From the 1965 trade directory;

Porter Wright & Co. Ltd.

Importers of Havana & Jamaica Cigars: Wine & spirit merchants,

Millsands, S3.

Millsands - it sounds like Whitbread/Tennent's.
