Possibly it's only marine artist!

Noticed this in The Star of the 28th of May. I haven't heard of him before and can't find any mention of him here.

Paintings sold

THREE paintings by Sheffield's finest marine painter, Thomas Bush Hardy, sold for nearly £6,000 at Christie's in London. One painting of a Dutch coastal scene sold for £3,500, while two other pictures of continental coast scenes fetched £2,375.

One of his paintings has just been featured on the programme 'Put your money where your mouth is', sold at auction for about £350.00. It was a seascape of the foreshore of Folkestone.

Just watched it on BBC iPlayer, the painting was purchased for £325 and went for £370,

so after the auctioneers fees were deducted the seller made a loss.

Thomas Bush Hardy's eldest son was also an artist,

best known for his graphic art.

Dudley Hardy R.I., R.B.A., R.M.S., P.S.

Born: Sheffield, 1867; Died: London, 1922.
