Guest bus man

The following was a regular site to bus passangers in the 50s/60s etc

The Sheffield Transport Lakeland tour and the city tour.

Any one remember driving them - the coach is a fanfayre

Hi Busman I can remember some tours which STD ran in the summer such as "The Strines Tour" , "The City Tour" and one into Derbyshire all which I did this was in the mid 60s and they ran out of Townhead Street Garage and departed from the bottom platform of Pond Street bus station opposite where the SUT office was.

I have no date for these tickets:

STD & JOC ticket

Clearly these tours continued for some time into the PTE era, as I have several with different fares. The highest fare ticket I have is this one, with an amended fare.

Other tours were advertised by the PTE. I assume these were carried on from tours operated by Sheffield Transport.

Remember the years of rampant inflation!
