I seem to remember he lost his rag at the Irish comment and walked out!

An IRISH Robin Hood?

Don't tell me, I know this one, -

He robbed from the POOR and gave to the RICH he he .

Ooops, sorry, no, that wasn't the Irish Robin Hood after all, that was a previous Conservative Government that did that! :o

He robbed from the POOR and gave to the RICH he he .

This is certainly what happened to Denis Moore: he stole so much from the rich to give to the poor that he had to steal it back from the poor to give to the rich (or something like that: I haven't seen any Monty Python for a long time.

Can only vaguely remember the Monty Python sketch madannie

But I seem to remember a sketch on some comedy programme about a female highwayman (a highwaywoman?) who did this as well.

The Robin Hood song was modified with the words, -

She robbed from the poor

She gave to the rich

Stupid bitch

Stupid bitch

Stupid bitch

Can't remember which comedy / sketch show it was though.

Walt Disney's version of Robin Hood

I thought Robin Hood in this version was played by a cartoon fox!

Or am I thinking of something else?

The "something else" you're thinking of Dave is the awful cartoon version which the Disney organization released in 1973, long after the death of Uncle Walt.

It was part of the long decline in quality of the Disney product, which wasn't halted until 1989 with the release of "The Little Mermaid", and after that - "Beauty and the Beast" and "Aladdin"

.

The Richard Todd Robin was re-issued several times, and returned to Sheffield later in the 50's, the 60's and 70's.

It doesn't turn up on TV very often, but it is now available on DVD in the States.
