This would be where Kelvin garage was, used to be the co-op on the other corner, near Langsett cycles and where the old Coronation Cafe was.

The sign on the Five Alls showed a lawyer (I plead for all), a parson, (I pray for all), a soldier (I fight for all), John Bull (I pay for all) and the Queen (I reign over all).

So, that's that little mystery-ette solved, then ...

Old Five Alls. 168 Infirmary Road

At one time there was a pub every hundred yards along Infirmary/Langsett Road. Most are still there although not all still serve beer.

The Old Five Alls closed shortly after the war. The site became a B&C Cooperative and is now a gun shop.
