" All that part of the said parish of Sheffield

comprised within and bounded by an imaginary

line commencing at a point (marked a on the

map or plan hereunto annexed and numbered 4.)

in the middle of the street or road called Bakershill

opposite to the middle of Flat-street, and

thence extending eastward along the middle of

such street or road to the southern end of another

street or road called Shude-hill, and thence northward

along the middle of such last-mentioned

street or road to a point (marked b on the lastmentioned

map or plan) opposite to the middle of

Dixon-lane, and thence eastward across Sheafbridge,

and along the middle of Broad-street, to a

point (marked c on such last-mentioned map or

plan) opposite to the middle of Duke-street, and

thence towards the south east along the middle of

such last-mentioned street to a point (marked d on

the same map or "plan) opposite to the middle of

Talbot-street, and thence towards the south west

along the middle of such last-mentioned street as

far as Bungay-street, and thence towards the

northwest along the middle of such last-mentioned

street as far as Granville-street, and thence westward

across such last-mentioned street, and over

the river Sheaf, in a straight direction ' to the

middle of Harmer-lane, and thence along the

middle of such lane as far as the middle of Pondstreet,

and thence northward along the middle of

such last-mentioned street, part of Pond-hill and

of Flat-street aforesaid, to the point where the

last-mentioned imaginary line commenced.

I assume it's been noticed that we have 2 spellings on here, Bungay and Bunghay :)

Thats my fault by the looks of it, only me seems to use Bunghay, <_< will go back and correct

I have studied that PictureSheffield photo a few times, I thought the path/steps were these can be seen in photo 13

I see it now:

It's Bungay Street Goes (went) between South Street and Granville Street. Norwich Street comes in from the Right. Map 4 shows it.

I think the houses going left to right are on Granville Ln which will make the view point somewhere near the junction of South Rd and Shrewsbury Rd

you can pick out to the left, the cathedral and the extension to the GPO where Pond St and Flat St diverge (theres a bus), if you join these with a straight line back to parkhill you get this

Which makes the houses going left to right Norwich St or Bungay Ln
